12"ers is a 1987/1988 remix album released by Phil Collins. The album contains six tracks from his 1985 hit album, No Jacket Required, remixed. All special extended remixes are by John 'Tokes' Potoker, except the "One More Night" extended mix by Hugh Padgham. The remixes on this album were originally released on various 12-inch LP singles which were taken from the album No Jacket Required, hence the name. All four singles alongside with two other songs are from No Jacket Required.

Facts About "No Jacket Required"

Phil Collins was perhaps the biggest pop musician in the world thanks to the release of his third solo album, "No Jacket Required", which sent the squat, balding-yet-mulleted, hairy-chested former Genesis drummer skyrocketing to the top of the charts. He stayed there for some time, too, becoming of the decade's most defining voices.

When Genesis Ruled the World

There are certain moments in pop music when an artist reaches that pinnacle of success or dominance — either buoyed by a blockbuster album, a streak of hit radio singles, inescapable media presence, or a combination of all three.
