Disney has today announced a straight to video Tarzan II will be release this coming June. The film is described as the “untold chapter” of Tarzan’s youth. As a child, Tarzan feels like the worst ape ever. Kala (Glenn Close) reassures him that his differences will one day be his strengths, but these very differences cause an accident that leaves Kala injured, and Tarzan missing and presumed dead by the rest of the tribe. Convinced that everyone would be better off without him, Tarzan sets off to find his place in the world. The disc will be available to own from the 14th June, priced at around $29.99. The film itself will be presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen along with both DTS 5.1 and Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks. Extras will include a Gorilla Grumble game, a Terk and Tantor's Jungle Guide and a Legacy of Tarzan: The Making of Tarzan II featurette which looks at how the original film influenced the sequel, and how Phil Collins developed new music for the film. Completing the package will be a Tiffany Evans music video, a Tarzan's Matter-of-Facts mode which pops up during the movie and looks at how the creator of Tarzan came up with an ape language (for instance, “Terk” means “ape.”) and more.
