Phil Collins: 'I May Have Fought At The Alamo In A Previous Life'

Collins: 'I May Have Fought At The Alamo In A Previous Life'Rocker Phil Collins insists his obsession with all things related to The Alamo is destined - because he may have fought there in a previous life.

The In The Air Tonight singer has a vast collection of weapons, clothing and memorabilia connected to the famous Texas Revolution battle, where U.S. forces fought the Mexican Army in 1836 - and he has learned he may have been a part of the historic San Antonio stand-off, which featured grizzled legends like Davy Crockett, Sam Houston and Jim Bowie.

Collins tells Rolling Stone magazine he was once approached by a clairvoyant at an Alamo convention, who told him, "You were here before. You were John W. Smith, the courier."

The singer/drummer admits the comment sent chills down his spine because the first piece of Alamo memorabilia he ever bought was one of Smith's receipts.

He says, "That's incredible... I don't want to sound like a weirdo... but I'm prepared to believe... It is a possibility that I was here in another life."

And the strange Alamo connections don't stop there - strange "orbs" have started appearing on photographs the former Genesis star has taken of the modern-day Alamo battle sites.

He adds, "It's (orbs) paranormal energy... You've got to be careful. You can talk yourself into this stuff... I get chills just talking about it."

Admitting The Alamo has become an "all-consuming" passion, Collins is currently writing a book about the battle and he has been embraced by history buffs and the descendants of the battle heroes, who have asked the rocker to speak at an upcoming convention.

He explains, "They said, 'We're such big fans.' It's like, 'Wow, they know I exist!' I can't believe this is happening. I'm just a f**king pop star."
