Montreux festival opens with Phil Collins

Tickets for the festival (July 1-17) go on sale from Thursday, April 29.
Organiser Claude Nobs says Collins’ exclusive concert, a musical journey travelling back to the 1960s, will feature soul classics from the celebrated Motown label.
Collins lives a short distance from Montreux at Nyon, which is also on the shores of Lake Geneva.
Other artists on the lineup at 44th edition of the famed music festival include: Norah Jones, Herbie Hancock, Roxy Music, Brad Mehldau, Vanessa Paradis, Billy Idol, Regina Spektor, Ben Harper, Diana Krall, Quincy Jones, Air, Tori Amos and Vampire Weekend.
There will also be a special day dedicated to African music and a tribute concert to Miriam Makeba featuring Youssou N’Dour.
