The show last nite in Poland was unbelievable...it rained hard non stop for 6 hours, including the whole show, complete with thunder, lightning etc. When Smithy appeared on stage, we got worried...then an annoucment said that they might have to cancel the show due to severe adverse weather (tell me about it). But the crew worked their asses off to make sure the show went on and it did! Everyone was completely soaked...we would have been more dry if we had jumped into a river...! Phil Himself came out into the rain to be close to the audience and share some of our wet misfortune with us! The Poles are an outstanding audience, the best I experienced sofar, rivalled only by the Germans. Poland LOVES Genesis and there was radio shows for hours on end after the gig, discussing it, fans ringing in to share their experience etc...WONDERFUL! I wish this would happen in the UK..."sigh"...
The crowd in Poland chanted "Genesis" throughout the show and the atmosphere was electric (and not just because of the thunderstorm...)
Absolutely awesome gig! We never got so wet in our lives (even more than Bern) but was it worth it?...ooohhhh YES!
To me, the concert in Poland was the best one I saw. We arrived there late, so we stood near the soundboard. I have to say that the music sounded even better back there than in the front row where we usually are.
Even though it was raining hard and everyone was soaked, the fans in Slaski Stadium were all smiling and friendly and enjoying the concert, chanting Genesis and dancing and clapping. The biggest lightnings seemed to play along with the show, it was as if the nature was helping with the lightshow - that was an awesome experience. Phil spent a lot of time out in the rain as well, it was like he wanted to show that if the rain doesn't bother the audience, it doesn't bother him either. There seemed to be so much energy in that concert compared to the other ones I saw.
