Just got back from Dusseldorf (300km) drive.
This was the best show for me, better than Hamburg and Brussels together!!! (well... every show has it's special memory, but this one surely stands out)
I feel like driving back to see the show again tomorrrow overthere....
Although we were up and far away in the stands (nearly at the far end of the side stand - tribune 144), this was AWESOME. The light and screen show came out in full effect. Really, really nice, what'm saying, superb, magnificent OMG!! Even with the closed roof, the fireworks at the end of IT came out everywhere.
This darkness + ligh+ screenshow and the nice overview we had from far away gave the show such a super feeling, also the sound is so much better, stonger, more full force in a 'closed' atmosphere.
I feel the audience was really involved, even up and far away where we were, participating, knowing the 'old' songs as well.
I don't feel Phil was in that great shape this evening, singing was good though, mama was very good, although he cut back on his 'German' introductory notes in between and didn't seem to want to spend too much time with those lines this time. He did fumble in the beginning of HbtS big time.
After Mama, the audience applauded for very long, too long in Phil's mind, he jokingly looked at his watch as if to say, now that's enough, hé!?
And as for CC - why it is special to the band, Phil nicely spelled it out now 'we feel it is part of the Genesis tradition'.
At the end I felt the tears come up in my eyes. Now I know for sure I'm gonna cry with those last notes at Twickenham....
oh, I did have a toilet break during HoMH , okay, it's not THAT bad, but then again...
