Gabriel did seem open to the idea of a reunion show for a good cause, but he again used Led Zeppelin’s one-off reunion show as an example of how he’d want to do it right, with adequate rehearsal time prior to the gig.
‘New Blood’ was an attempt to be “bold” through the removal of traditional instrumentation like guitars and drums and Peter says that he hoped to find “new territory” via the updates to the familiar material.
He also revealed during the interview that including ‘Solsbury Hill’ as a bonus track on ‘New Blood’ was a last minute choice for Gabriel, who gave in after getting a large amount of fan requests for the track.
Gabriel continues to work sporadically on new material that he terms as “ideas” rather than fully formed songs, and says that once he wraps up his current promotional activities, he’ll take a fresh look at what might lie ahead.
