Mike, Andrew, The Mechanics and a new album

Formed by guitarist Mike Rutherford during a break from his multi-million selling band, Genesis, Mike & The Mechanics became widely known for their hit singles "Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground)", "All I Need Is a Miracle", "Word of Mouth", "Over My Shoulder", and "The Living Years".

Now, following a six year hiatus, the band return with a new album and tour this time featuring a new lead singer, none other than Andrew Roachford, main driving force behind 90's chart toppers Roachford.

Talking to The Hour, Roachford, known for hits Family Man and Cuddly Toy, explains that Mike's producer got in touch suggesting the English soul singers voice would be perfectly suited to the new songs Rutherford was writing. The rest is history as the duo got together along with the rest of the band and produced the highly rated album, 'The Road.'

Roachford explains that he enjoys singing the bands old hits like 'Over My Shoulder' and 'All I Need Is A Miracle' due to the fact that he shares similar musical influences to the bands original singer Paul Carrack.

With a new album under their belt and a sold out tour, Mike and The Mechanics will not be looking back over their shoulders for some time to come.
